About the role

The HSEQ Advisor is a project-based role in Appin, NSW, responsible for ensuring that the highest health, safety and environmental (HSE) and operational standards in all areas of Redpath Mining works are maintained through the management and continuous improvement of HSE systems, appropriate training and competence for employees and contractors and through the monitoring and measurement of safety compliance.

You will be working back-to-back with another HSEQ Advisor, you will oversee the management, compliance, coordination, monitoring, and implementation of all Health, Safety, and Environment requirements for the Appin Shaft contract.


Working on 15 days on 13 days off roster, FIFO from Capital cities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in safety and training across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with Redpath's Management Operation Procedures (MOPs).
  • Maintain and coordinate training needs analysis and documentation.
  • Oversee environmental compliance requirements for the project.
  • Lead workplace inspections and track participation levels.
  • Deliver risk assessment and JSA training.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and incident investigations.
  • Provide expert advice on WHS legislative requirements.
  • Support operations with risk management processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior safety professional experience within the mining industry.
  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent).
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (advantageous).
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of WHS and Workers' Compensation legislation.
  • ICAM qualifications (highly desirable).
  • Strong computer skills (MS Word & Excel).
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
